What is FF&E?
FF&E stands for Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment — the movable items a business needs to operate: desks, chairs, casegoods, lighting, computers, millwork, artwork, medical and kitchen equipment, and the decor that gives a space its identity.
Because FF&E is not permanently attached to the building, it's tracked separately from the real estate on a company's balance sheet and is typically depreciated over three or more years. That accounting reality is why FF&E matters for project valuation, design intent, and ongoing asset management — and why it needs to be received and documented with more care than a standard freight shipment.
