Container Stripping & Transloading in Richmond, VA
Strip 20 ft and 40 ft containers from the Port of Virginia or Richmond Marine Terminal and reload them onto 53 ft trailers or LTL.
container transloading Richmond VA
Container stripping (also called devanning) means unloading an ocean container so the freight can move on domestic equipment. We strip 20 ft and 40 ft containers, including floor-loaded containers packed carton by carton, at our dock in N Chesterfield. The freight is then palletized, stretch-wrapped, labeled and reloaded onto a 53 ft dry van, split into LTL shipments, stored short-term, or sent out for last-mile delivery on our liftgate box trucks.
We are a short drive from Richmond Marine Terminal and on the I-64 and I-95 corridors to the Port of Virginia in Norfolk, so a Port of Virginia transload through Richmond is a fast way to return the container and avoid per diem and demurrage. Tell us the container size, whether it is floor-loaded or palletized, the piece count and the outbound plan, and we will quote it. Sending photos of the container doors when it is opened speeds things up.
Every container is photographed when the doors open, during the strip, and again when the outbound load is closed. You receive a count against the packing list and the signed paperwork the same day. We do not accept hazmat of any class.
