LTL Consolidation & Pool Distribution in Richmond, VA
Ship one truckload into Richmond. We break it down and deliver to every store, dealer or customer across Virginia.
pool distribution Virginia
Pool distribution is a simple idea that saves real money. Instead of sending dozens of separate LTL shipments from your origin to individual stores or customers in Virginia, you send one consolidated truckload to our Richmond cross-dock. We unload it, sort the freight by destination and deliver each order on our own trucks.
Fewer touches means less damage. One linehaul instead of many means lower cost. And because we deliver the final mile ourselves, you get consistent appointment scheduling and photo proof of delivery on every stop instead of a mix of LTL carriers with different rules.
LTL consolidation works in the other direction too: we collect freight from multiple Virginia suppliers, build full or partial loads at our dock and ship them out together.

Pricing
What affects the price
We model your current LTL spend against a pooled program so you can see the savings before you commit.
- Pallets handled
- Cross-dock handling from $20 per pallet with a $200 weekday minimum.
- Number of stops
- Routes with more stops spread the truck cost across deliveries.
- Route distance
- Richmond metro routes cost less than Hampton Roads or Northern Virginia routes.
- Service level
- Dock, liftgate, inside and appointment requirements per stop.
- Timing
- Next-day is standard. Same-day and after-hours or weekend work add a fee ($250 after hours and weekends on cross-dock handling).
Why pool through Richmond
Richmond is central to Virginia’s population and highway network. From our dock, a delivery truck can reach Hampton Roads, Fredericksburg, Charlottesville or the Tri-Cities and return the same day. That makes Richmond an efficient pool point for statewide distribution and a practical relay for freight continuing to DC and Baltimore.

FAQ
LTL Consolidation & Pool Distribution questions
What is pool distribution?
Pool distribution means shipping one consolidated load to a regional cross-dock, where it is broken down and delivered locally to many destinations. It is common for retail chains, distributors and manufacturers with many customers in one region.
How is it different from cross-docking?
Pool distribution uses cross-docking as one step. The difference is that we also handle the multi-stop local delivery, rather than loading the freight onto someone else’s outbound trailer.
How much does pool distribution cost?
Cross-dock handling starts from $20 per pallet with a $200 weekday minimum. Delivery is priced per stop or per route based on distance, freight size and service level.
Can you hold some freight for later delivery?
Yes. Freight that cannot be delivered right away can stay in storage at our Richmond warehouse until the receiver is ready.
What areas can you deliver pooled freight to?
Greater Richmond, Hampton Roads, Fredericksburg, Charlottesville, Northern Virginia, Washington DC, Baltimore, Roanoke, Lynchburg and Harrisonburg.
Do you consolidate outbound LTL?
Yes. We collect freight from several shippers or suppliers, build consolidated loads and hand them to your linehaul carrier or deliver them ourselves.
