Truck-to-Truck Transfer in Richmond, VA
Move freight from one trailer to another at our dock — 24 hour cross dock near I-95, from $20 per pallet.
truck to truck transfer Richmond VA
A truck-to-truck transfer is the simplest form of cross-docking: your inbound trailer backs into one of our dock-high doors at 2208 Station Rd in N Chesterfield, we unload it with forklifts and pallet jacks, and we reload the freight onto the outbound truck, either right away or the next morning. Carriers use it when a truck breaks down, when a driver is out of hours, when a load needs to be split across two trucks, or when a long-haul trailer has to hand off to a local box truck for delivery.
Because we sit minutes from I-95, I-295, I-64, US-360 and VA-288, we are a natural relay point for freight moving up and down the East Coast. We have room to turn 53 ft trailers, so your driver can get in and out without blocking the road. Truck-to-truck transfers start at $20 per pallet with a $200 weekday minimum, and nights, weekends and after-hours work adds a $250 fee on top of the per-pallet rate. No hidden fees.
Every transfer includes photos of the freight at unload and again at reload, piece counts against your BOL, and the signed paperwork emailed to you the same day. If something arrives damaged or leaning, we text you photos before it goes back out, so you can decide whether to rework, hold or refuse it.
